The ocean side city of Mackay in North Queensland has been undergoing rapid change and development in recent years. The inner city boasts three new venues. They have proven popular since their opening in November 2012. Mark Laffin, Managing Director of all three venues designed each to entice and entertain a diverse audience. Bleach Festival and Kirra Kite Festival joined their festivities at beautiful Kirra Beach this year. The skies over Kirra beach were awash with spectacular colour as amazing kites flew overhead, while live bands performed from a stage in the beachside park. JVG Hire provided the pro audio and lighting for the live performers. This event proved popular with huge crowds loving the weather, beachside sounds and ambience.
The next Bleach Festival event on the Gold Coast was “Eat Street”. This was held in Tugun. The event invited the community to meet in Tugun’s iconic Toolona Street and enjoy food from the local eateries and enjoy the entertainment. Bleach organisers placed a large communal table under the beautiful fig so attendees could eat, mingle and generally soak up the event. JVG provided pro audio and lighting for this great event.
“Bleach Boulevard” was a festival in itself featuring live music, theatre, workshops, “The Village Markets” and the Alley Fish Fry. Based in the green parkland of Currumbin and extending along the Currumbin beachfront, the event offered the public a range of free entertainment. The JVG Sound Lighting and Visual Hire Department were engaged to provide pro audio, visual and lighting equipment again this year for the exciting coastal festival.
“Bleach Opening Night” was held on the 22nd of February with musical performances from Ava Beree, Georgia Potter, Lucas Proudfoot and Opera Australia. “Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Park” combined orchestral music, choirs and dance theatre. It was another entertaining night for Gold Coast lovers of music and the arts. The JVG Sound Lighting and Visual Hire Department were on hand throughout The Pre Bleach Weekend, ensuring complete control and success with the pro audio and lighting equipment.
The Pre Bleach Weekend festivities continued on Saturday February 16th with an afternoon of diverse and fabulous live musical performances at Burleigh Beach. The JVG Sound Lighting and Visual Hire Department provided pro audio and lighting equipment for the coastal on-stage performances.
Twin Towns Services Club is uniquely situated on the coastline border of New South Wales and Queensland. Since its inception in 1950, Twin Towns has developed into a multi million-dollar business and the largest Services Club in Australia. The Management/Board of the club have begun a huge transformation for the “coastal club”.
The Brisbane Zombie Walk is an annual event, which raises awareness and funds for The Brain Foundation of Australia whilst offering the public a unique and entertaining charity event. The JVG Sound Lighting and Visual Hire Department were engaged to provide pro audio and lighting for the event.
The Glen Hotel, one of the oldest trading licensed premises in Queensland, recently refurbished and upgraded their function room facilities. JVG Sound Lighting and Visual installed a mix of audio, lighting and audiovisual features to enhance the venue into a ‘smart room’ using the latest technologies.
