Snoop Dogg | Jupiters Casino

One of the largest events this year was undeniably the Snoop Dogg Pool Party held at Jupiter’s Casino.  Whilst in the country for the national “Supafest” urban music festival, the global icon played an exclusive DJ set. JVG Sound Lighting & Visual Pty Ltd was selected by Jupiter’s Casino to provide the entire audiovisual requirements for the event! This was a huge scoop for Jade Golar and his team who set out to make the night a great success for everyone involved!

Prior to the event the JVG team set up the Global Truss 10m x 8m ground support over the water with full waterproof canopy and sides for weather resistance. This is the only ground support Global Truss structure available on the Gold Coast and exclusive to JVG Sound. The stage was equipped with 3 x J Audio JT8LA active line arrays, 1 x JT15LAS double 15” subwoofer and 2 x V218 touring subs each side. Our audio technicians were using 2 x Yamaha M7 consoles for front of house and fold back monitors.
Full production lighting was used, consisting of moving head spots, washes, blinders, LED bars, 3000w strobes, haze machines and lighting DMX console whilst full video visuals were displayed onstage on Panasonic commercial panels via R Kaos video software.

Overall the night was a HUGE success with Jupiters Casino being extremely pleased with the outcome. Stay tuned for future events!

Oracle Towers | Broadbeach, QLD

To compliment the architecture and design of “The Oracle”, JVG Sound Visual & Lighting Pty Ltd was enlisted to install the audio visual for the foyer, restaurant, gymnasium, function room, meeting room, residential and visitor lounges and cinema in each tower.
JVG Sound’s brief for the project was to create an easily controllable system for the residents and staff who would be utilising these areas. Complex programming and installation was completed for the keypads used in all the Background Music zones and the Crestron TPS6L 6-inch touch screen installed in each cinema for total audio visual control at the touch of a button.
Furthermore JVG provided a networked Crestron control solution in all required areas and all systems were then interfaced into the Ewis fire system. In both cinemas JVG installed an Adagio digital amplifier, Krix surround theatre speaker package, a Screen Technics cinema snap screen and a Sony Professional HD 1080P projector.
Also installed were Australian monitor 8” ceiling speakers and 100V line amplifiers in all Background Music zones.
Although initially the project posed some challenges for JVG Sound; once again through innovation the team were able to overcome these challenges to create the aesthetically pleasing environments they so desired at the outset. Overall the entire audiovisual project was hugely successful with “The Oracle” definitely portraying the sophistication it deserved.

Billabong Film Premiere | Kirra Surf, QLD

In the midst of the Quicksilver Pro 2011 the world saw the premiere of Dean Morrison’s new movie, A Dingo’s Tale. The Gold Coast based company was first choice for the Billabong team. Our goal was to project the movie onto the existing large advertisement panel on the front of the building. All outside, the pending rain posed a threat to the entire event. JVG managed to set up the projector to the right height with enough cords to run to our system, whilst keeping all equipment protected from any water damage. Staging, lighting and audio was assembled undercover for the band. Despite the weather, the night was still a success and JVG was still able to create an outside and easy-going atmosphere for all the surfing fanatics.

A new white mat was supplied to stretch over the 9m by 7m screen. In use was a large 10,000 anti lumens commercial projector, Blue Ray DVD player using krammer extenders over cat6 and 1 x 8m scissor lift from Action Scaffolds.

Speaker system was comprised of 4 x J-Aduio V218 V-Rig subwoofers (2 a side) 4 x V15 tops and 4 x V12m fold backs for the band. The Soundcraft console delivered an intuitive, uncomplicated and sonically superior mixing solution for the large outside environment. The BSS, DBX and TSS electronics ensured all levels and EQ’s were set for maximum performance to ensure everyone in the precinct had the best quality in sound. Shure wireless Beta87/SLX2 microphone and Shure Beta 52A kick down microphone were supplied for the band and speeches.

JVG had 12m of global box truss, 4 x 3 tonne push-ups to raise all 8 x Robe 170at with custom gobos from gobo tech with all sponsor branding on it, 16 tri led bars

This lighting system is controlled with an all-in-one Ezicontrol 22” touch panel running windows 7, an E-cue Silver Butler and the DMX chain.

Infusion Vodka Lounge | Coolangatta Hotel, QLD

Infusion Vodka Lounge is the newest lounge bar and nightclub on the Southern Gold Coast. Unique, sexy and up market, Infusion offers a unique destination for the Southern and Tweed Coast. The Coolangatta Hotel has been a very happy client of JVG for 10 years, and once again they have not been disappointed! Designed and constructed by the JVG AV engineering team with Jade Golar in charge of project and design, the new venture meant an exciting opportunity for the JVG team to rise to the challenge yet again and think of new and innovative sound and lighting.

The goal was to achieve a very even coverage of clear sound throughout the VIP and standing areas and to bring a modern look and feel to the bar and dance floor, both architecturally and acoustically. The task posed many challenges such as not to let sound spill out into the gaming room or bass into the residential tower or separate function room above. Through skill and experience the team were able to achieve this without hampering the sound quality within Infusion.

Installed were 10 x J-Audio SV8i white fill boxes over 3 zones, SV18s single 18” sub woofer either side of the dance floor hidden under podiums with a lot of punch for the dance DJs, 6 x SV10i white speakers hung on u-brackets running 90 degree horizontal and 60 degrees vertical on the dance floor. All even spread to create an amazing and even clear sound of 110db with no distortion compared to the old system.

Lighting had to be customisable by the venue to suit any function or event, compliment the new furniture and the vast array of vodka flavours. JVG used RGB mixing and LED tape throughout all VIP areas, steps and spirit shelves. Running 10 x Robe 170AT’s (8 black, 2 white) strobes, hazers and led dance floor effects created a visual spectacular making Infusion the ultimate dance party location on the coast.

This lighting system is controlled with an all-in-one Ezicontrol 22” touch panel running windows 7, an E-cue Silver Butler and the DMX chain.

The new owner, Mark from Coolangatta Hotel was extremely impressed from the pre-design to the hand over from Jade Golar and the team at JVG sound.

The Owl & Pussycat | Byron Bay, NSW

The Owl & Pussy Cat is the newest and trendiest cocktail and tapas bar in Byron Bay, NSW. With the help of Jade Golar and the JVG AV & Engineering team, a funky, relaxed atmosphere is achieved through a balanced mix of LED lighting and quality speakers, making The Owl & Pussy Cat the perfect central venue for all your dining and drinking needs. JVG is no stranger to creating customised audio visual installations to suit the needs of the particular venue or client.

The goal was to achieve a very even coverage of clear sound throughout the venue whilst still being able to talk in a group and enjoy the beautiful setting.

Installed were 14 x J-Audio SV8i room fill boxes over 6 zones, SV15S single 15” sub woofer either side of room for bottom end and some warmth for the DJs and bands, 3 dual XLR band plates for acts to plug into, Bose esp88 digital audio processor and CC64 wall controller behind the bar for user-friendly daily use. All zones are digitally processed and limited to there liquor license.  In the external standing areas you can find 8 x J.Audio outdoor 702A run off J-Audio 100v line amplifiers.
Lighting had to be customisable to suit and function or event. To achieve this JVG used RGB mixing throughout all 12 zones of lighting. RGB led tape was used for all kickers, booths, bar fronts, main sign and up lighting and washing features with Visio RGB-WW MR16 down light fittings.

This lighting system is controlled with an all-in-one Ezicontrol 22” touch panel running windows 7, an E-cue Silver Butler and the DMX chain.

The owners Mon and Rohan were extremely happy with JVG’s efforts from the initial pre-design to the hand over from Jade Golar and the JVG Sound team.
